As we march into 2025, we at Gov Ready are excited to continue our mission of helping businesses of all sizes to first get ready for, win, and deliver Government contracts. This year already brings significant advancements in the government procurement landscape, presenting plenty of new opportunities for all businesses who have a real desire to win and deliver Government business.
A couple of recent updates include:
Queensland Government Procurement Transformation Program: The Queensland Government is implementing a Procurement Transformation Program aimed at enhancing procurement processes across departments. This initiative focuses on streamlining procurement activities, improving efficiency, and ensuring better value for public spending. Will it succeed?
Well, the jury is out, but I have my fingers and toes crossed! The program includes the development of a centralised procurement platform to facilitate easier access for suppliers and promote transparency in government purchasing. In theory this sounds great, but time will tell…read more at Local Buy…Australian Business Growth Fund (ABGF): The Australian Government has established the ABGF to provide long-term equity capital to small and medium-sized enterprises with growth potential (if this is you, then it’s worth a look!).
The fund aims to bridge the gap between debt and equity financing, offering minority stakes to help businesses scale without relinquishing control. With a total fund size of $540 million, ABGF typically invests between $5 million and $15 million in high-performing SMEs, supporting their expansion and competitiveness in the market. Read more…
On a purely personal note, I can’t wait to see how 2025 plays out. I’ve loved how we’ve helped so many businesses since I decided to take a leap of faith (just as Covid hit us!) and establish Gov Ready just a few short years ago.
We’ve grown Gov Ready nationally, and without doubt this is due to the many wonderful businesses who have supported us and given us the opportunity to help them advance and accelerate their journey into Government revenue streams.
