Industry Capability & Supplier Development Programs
Building Strong Local Suppliers
Government procurement works best when capable suppliers are ready to deliver. That is why industry capability and supplier development are critical for government agencies and Tier 1 contractors delivering major projects.
Gov Ready works with government agencies, local councils and major enterprises to strengthen supplier capability. Through capability programs, workshops and advisory support, we help you develop local small and medium businesses so they can meet procurement standards and engage confidently in government and Tier 1 supply chains.
The result is stronger local supply chains and greater SME participation in government procurement.

Support Economic Development & Local Industry Participation
Supporting Priority Supplier Groups
Government procurement is increasingly used to strengthen local economies and support diverse suppliers.
Gov Ready helps government agencies, councils and Tier 1 contractors identify, engage and develop SMEs from priority supplier groups identified in government procurement policies and major project supply chains, including
Small and family businesses
Regional and local businesses
Veteran-owned businesses
Social enterprises
Women-owned or women-led businesses
Disability-owned businesses
Indigenous businesses
By strengthening procurement capability within these businesses, you can deliver stronger local participation outcomes and build more inclusive supply chains.
You already know why this matters.
Government and enterprise procurement sets a high bar. Compliance, governance, risk management and delivery capability all influence whether suppliers are considered viable partners.
Many SMEs have strong products and services but lack the procurement knowledge, systems and positioning required to compete successfully. This creates a gap between procurement opportunity and supplier capability.
Gov Ready helps you bridge that gap by preparing local businesses to meet procurement expectations and engage more effectively with government and major contractors.
Our work helps you:
Support economic development and local industry participation
Strengthen your local supplier ecosystem
Increase SME engagement in government supply chains
Improve supplier capability and compliance

Logan City Council is supporting local businesses to prepare for major infrastructure and supply chain opportunities connected to the Logan–Gold Coast Faster Rail project and the broader Brisbane 2032 infrastructure pipeline.
As part of its commitment to strengthening local economic participation, Council launched a structured capability program to help local businesses position themselves for major project supply chains.
Gov Ready was engaged to support the delivery of the Major Project Readiness Program, helping local businesses understand how to engage with government and Tier 1 contractor supply chains.
The program supports up to 40 Logan-based businesses to strengthen their capability, build procurement readiness, and prepare to compete for larger and more complex packages of work.
Building Capability for Major Project Opportunities
The program focuses on helping local businesses:
Understand how major infrastructure supply chains operate.
Strengthen their internal capability and procurement readiness.
Position themselves for Tier 1 contractor opportunities.
Build confidence engaging with large infrastructure projects.
Participating businesses complete a structured program including practical workshops delivered by procurement and major project experts, alongside insights from professionals currently delivering major infrastructure projects.
The program also includes a Supply Chain Connector event, introducing participating businesses directly to contractors and subcontractors already engaged on major projects.
Supporting Long Term Economic Outcomes
The initiative forms part of Logan City Council’s broader economic development strategy to:
Strengthen local business capability.
Increase participation of Logan businesses in major projects.
Build resilient regional supply chains.
Ensure local businesses are well positioned to benefit from upcoming infrastructure investment.
By supporting local businesses to become supply chain ready, the program helps ensure major projects create meaningful economic opportunities for the Logan region.
